The Fall season is officially upon us, and the change in the air, turning of the leaves, and setting back of the time, are all gentle reminders that the holidays are approaching. However you choose to celebrate during this season, I hope that you take time for yourself and to enjoy family and good friends.

As I look back over the year thus far I am so proud of the wonderful things Mocha Moms Inc. has accomplished. Our chapters have flourished and provided tremendous support for their members and communities. Across the country Mocha Moms are busy making a difference in the lives of their families, friends, and communities by working toward our mission and platforms. Our community service initiative (Closing the Minority Achievement Gap) has really been embraced by our partners and sponsors and we are successfully making strides to implement programming that will support that initiative on an on-going basis. Chapters have held educational, financial, and health symposiums in many communities in support of our initiative and have had great attendance. We are continuing to open Boys Booked on Barber Shops/Girls Booked on Beauty Shops Reading Nooks all over the country to promote good reading skills and foster a love of reading for the children. Nothing compares to seeing the sparkle in a child’s eyes when they read or someone takes the time to read to them.

Please take time to peruse our website and read the great articles and updates on the events we have held as well as find out about our future events. I encourage each of you to become personally involved in making a difference in the lives of those you care about, and in your own communities by donating your time and talent in any way you can.
