Mocha Moms, Inc. Statement on the Charleston, SC Shooting

Mocha Moms, Inc. is horrified and saddened by the brutal attack at the historic Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, SC last night. While many of the details are still being released about the tragedy, there are two things we know: the nine victims were killed because they were black and, as President Barack Obama said today, they were killed because someone intent on hurting people had too easy access to a gun. Neither of those is acceptable.

We are relieved that the suspect has been arrested after 14 long hours of a massive manhunt, and we offer our sympathies and condolences to the victims, their families, the church body, and the Charleston community. We walk with you in mourning and remembering the victims.
