Madison Chapter launches BBOB Reading Nook
 
November 8, 2008 - the Madison Chapter joined our national initiative to encourage reading among boys living in urban communities.
  
 

The Madison Mocha Moms had a successful Boys Booked on Barbershops kick-off on Saturday Nov. 8th at JP Hair Design in Madison, WI.  The Mocha Moms chatted with parents and children about the literacy initiative and gave away books and treats to the children while they waited for hair services.  Because of the generous support of their sponsors they were able to stock JP's book shelves with a variety of books ranging from toddler reads like Clifford the Big Red Dog to the more cultural like the story of Harriet Tubman, Martin Luther King, Jr. and Barack Obama!  Sponsors included Scholastic and Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority, Inc. - Kappa Psi Omega Chapter.
