Join the Northern Prince George's County, MD Chapter of Mocha Moms, Inc. at their B-BOB reading nook launch. Open to the Public.


Mocha Moms, Inc., a national support organization for stay-at-home mothers of color, and The National Institute for Literacy, a U.S. federal agency, has launched an innovative partnership to support early literacy and help foster a love for books and reading.  New book nooks will be unveiled at barbershops across the country as part of the Boys Booked on Barbershops (B-BOB) and Girls Booked on Beauty Shops (G-BOB), a growing national initiative launched in 2004 that takes advantage of naturally occuring opportunities in the community to foster a love of reading.

is a national literacy program designed to make the most of naturally-occurring opportunities for children to read in the context of their cultures and communities in familiar neighborhood sites such as barbershops. The launch to introduce the “book nook” to the community will include food, entertainment and give-aways. Open to the public
