Karla Chustz

My name is Karla Chustz and I am one of the co-founders of Mocha Moms, Inc. I am the mother of two outstanding young men and the wife of an amazing husband for 31 years. I have earned an undergraduate degree from Hampton University and two master’s degrees, one from Case Western Reserve University, School of Business, and the second from George Mason University, School of Education and Human Development. I have been an educator for over 20 years and am currently a School Counselor at a middle school in Fairfax County Public Schools.

Being a Co-Founder
Being a co-founder of Mocha Moms is one of my proudest achievements. As the wife of a military officer, I spent a lot of time helping our family adjust to whatever changes came our way and being able to stay home with my sons for 10 years was a great joy. Being a mother of color is not for the faint of heart, and Mocha Moms allowed me to reach out, support and be supported by my community. The growth and evolution of our organization is something for which I will forever be proud. Our mission as mothers, role models, and advocates for our children has grown and blossomed into a mighty force for supporting families of color.
