About Us

Mocha Moms, Incorporated is the premier voice and support group for mothers of color. Mocha Moms, Inc. does not discriminate against any person, regardless of demographic status. Anyone who supports the mission and purpose of Mocha Moms, Inc. is welcome to join. Mocha Moms, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) national, non-profit support organization for mothers of color with more than 60 chapters in 21 states and an online presence of more than 100,000 followers, dedicated to providing sisterhood, support and service through every season of motherhood. “Mochas” are regularly engaged in mothers' support group meetings, called “Sister Socials,” with their children, moms-only get togethers and a broad range of community service projects throughout the country. They host education fairs, health and wellness symposiums, and financial literacy workshops. They have been instrumental in promoting the importance of breastfeeding, global vaccines and cord blood donation. Mochas share information and support each other through specialized networks that focus on everything from building healthy marriages, homeschooling, and being a single parent to raising children with special needs, parenting adult children and running businesses.

Over the past two decades, through their signature program, Closing the Gap in Minority Health, Prosperity and Achievement, Mochas have tackled health disparities, promoted investing and building generational wealth, boosted parent engagement and focused on closing educational achievement gaps in their schools. In 2026, the organization launched a new, bold national initiative called We Are Not OK! to address the forcing out of more than 300,000 Black women from the workforce, the end of the U.S. Department of Education, the maternal, infant and mental health crisis among Black women, and the need for more support and political engagement. Mocha Moms, Inc. has partnerships with key national organizations, including the March of Dimes, the National Institute for Mental Illness (NAMI) and Black Health Matters. It is also a national collaborating organization with The Black Women’s Agenda, and an affiliate of the National Council of Negro Women.

Organization

Direction for Mocha Moms, Inc. is provided by the National Executive Board, a dedicated group of volunteers. The National Board meets regularly to, among other things, determine ways to assist local chapters in their efforts to support members, plan national community service projects and events, establish policies and procedures, and assist in the formation of chapters. Mocha Moms, Inc. also has a National Advisory Council, which serves to assist and advise the National Board.

Regional Directors and State Coordinators serve as the liaison between local chapters and the National Executive Board. Regional Directors and State Coordinators also serve as a guide and support for all local chapters with an emphasis on coordinating activities in which many chapters throughout an area can participate.

Each local chapter of Mocha Moms, Inc. elects officers who are in charge of the day-to-day affairs of that chapter.

The Mocha Moms, Inc. National Board has established National Mocha Networks which are managed by Network Directors. Mocha Networks provide web-based, electronic, in-person and virtual support along with regular columns in our newsletter, to support distinct segments of the Mocha Moms, Inc. community.
